NWO Monthly Meeting- January, 2010
NWO held monthly meeting of members on 24th January, 2010 Sunday, to discuss the recently held events and progress of upcoming projects. Meeting was attended by almost all members.

FREE Eye Camp, 9th January, 2010- A review of eye camp, conducted on January 9, 2010 was presented by the President Karachi Region, Abdul Sattar Ishaqani. According to him, the event was another milestone achieved by NWO in health sector. He pointed to specific drawbacks in the management of the camp. These flaws include insufficient coverage in media and news paper; although we received ample coverage but not the one we could have by better preplanned strategy.
- The President appreciated volunteers from Najia Shagird Tanzeem and Nishat Girls Wing, Jamaat Luari Sharif and other volunteers from Luari Sharif city who devoted their dedicated services to contribute in our success. He also showed his concern to present souvenirs to motivate them.
- Asia Care to insure 5000 members from Jamaat for serious health assistance except for OPD.
- Annual premium for these members would be about Rs. 4 million. This amount will be collected from donor agencies which would be 75% while 25% will be borne by Hazrat Sultan ul Olyia Foundation.
- This project will be managed by NWO. This would be the first largest community development project in health sector at Jamaat level.
- A committee will be constituted, before the project commencement and during its process. A comprehensive campaign of awareness will be launched so that the beneficiaries of the project could play their role effectively and may able to understand the philosophy behind health insurance in true meaning.
- Asia care would be requested to open its sub-office at Badin to facilitate locals. In further phase of this project, people who can afford insurance on their own would be motivated to avail this insurance.
- Preliminary study Report has been submitted to SEF for adoption of four schools in which 2 from Badin, 1 from Sanghar and 1 from Qazi Ahmed.
- SEF requested NWO to adopt 3 more schools of Badin area. For 3 remaining schools, the preliminary report was prepared and submitted to SEF. The locations of these 5 schools are: Village Pir Muhammad Sadiq, Khan Sahib Abdul Rehman Village, Roshanabad, Amir Bux Korejo Village and Bahno Korejo Village.
- According to discussion with SEF, they will finalize the 5 schools of Badin and then they will consider the two remaining schools of Sanghar & Qazi Ahmed, as reported by Mr. Ishaqani.
- A proposal/application has been given to SEF to establish a new state-of-the-art school at Luari Sharif. This school will start from grass root level and for which land to be provided by Pir of Luari Sharif.
- A demography survey is due and it should be started in near about March 2010. In our last meeting this agenda was discussed comprehensively but we are waiting final decision from Head Office.
- It was discussed that the Government is also planning to conduct the Census in March/April which should be monitored carefully so that none of Community member could remain unregistered with Government Census.
- Our demography survey should be on very high standard and computerized properly that in future government should get assistance of verification by our system.
- Face book group created by A. Sattar Ishaqani with the name “Nishat Welfare Organization”. Mr. Sattar Abbasi suggested as an officer for the maintenance and monitoring of the group. Sattar Abbassi would upload pictures and movies and other promotional stuff on the group after approval from the president Karachi Region.
- Notice Board approval awaited from Head Office.
- Magazine/news letter should be published on 3-monthly or half-yearly and to be kept in offices of funding agencies and other organizations for their constant review of NWO activities.
